The Children's Growth and Obesity Center professionally treats growth-related diseases—which are rapidly growing in number—by providing
differentiated treatments through early diagnosis and evaluation based on extensive clinical experiences.

The recent development of the latest digital technology and change of eating habits and life environments are greatly affecting the growth of children and adolescents, with childhood obesity or precocious puberty sometimes manifesting. Moreover, the increased interest in height may mentally shrink or exclude relatively short children and affect careers in adulthood, as many parents have interest in the height of children.

Ajou University Hospital has operated the Growth Clinic since 2009. This clinic was expanded and reorganized to the Children's Growth and Obesity Center in 2013 for the first time in Korea, providing differentiated and convenient high-quality treatments to young patients and guardians compared to other hospitals. The number of patients visiting our center due to growth-related illnesses or genetic metabolism diseases is approximately 84,000 per year, the largest in Korea.

The Children's Growth and Obesity Center provides treatments not only for the existing pediatric endocrine field but also for pediatric orthopedics such as scoliosis and flat feet to prepare the field specializing in “growth.” The medical team is composed of Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Radiology experts to provide comprehensive and systematic treatment services.
