The Laboratory Medicine Department uses various samples from patients to perform quick and accurate diagnoses and treatments, including tests required for prognosis determination.
Various tests on blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, bodily fluids, microorganisms, and cancer cells are conducted. The blood bank supplies blood where transfusion is required in the hospital, and various relevant tests or blood donations are performed.
The Laboratory Medicine Department has acquired certification from the College of American Pathologists (CAP)—which is a Society of Clinical Pathology review institution in the US—with outstanding scores, and Excellent Laboratory Accreditation from the Laboratory Medicine Foundation and high scores in the reliability survey by the Korean Association of External Quality Assessment Service have been obtained, with the Laboratory Medicine Department domestically and internationally acknowledged as an outstanding laboratory.
