The Emergency Medicine Department is in charge of emergency treatments for body abnormalities due to acute diseases or damages. In addition, the Emergency Medical Center proactively responds to various emergency situations and mass disasters that occur in local society. The Emergency Medical Center, which boasts of the largest size in Korea, has total floor area of 4,400m2 with a 5-story building with 1 basement. It thoroughly prepares for various emergency diseases with emergency medicine specialists stationed 24 hours a day.

Aside from treating emergency patients, the Emergency Medicine Department is actively participating in various research projects such as smart medical consultation project, general emergency cooperation network pilot project for the Suwon medical treatment area, and ER-based suicide attempter follow-up management project to play a leading role in establishing national policies.
