    Robotic Operating Center

The Robotic Operating Center provides distinguished medical services with facilities and equipment exclusive for robotic surgeries through the medical staff.

Robotic surgery with less pain and quick recovery
Surgery is possible with as little as one small hole (single hole) by using the robot joint (arm) that freely moves up to 540 degrees, and a clear view of the surgical area magnified by about 10 times through a 3D stereoscopic screen is secured. Robotic surgeries boast of less pain and quick recovery compared to conventional surgeries. Not only do they have low risk of complications and recurrence rates due to delicate minimally invasive surgery without shaking; in the aesthetic aspects as well, they leave less scars with high patient satisfaction.

More than 1,400 robotic surgeries a year
Since the first robotic surgery in 2008, Ajou University Hospital has performed more than 11,000 robotic surgeries to date. Various ablation and resection procedures are conducted in most departments including the Surgery Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Urology Department, Otorhinolaryngology Department, Thoracic Surgery, etc. for gallbladder, thyroid, stomach, uterus, prostate, kidneys, ovaries, large intestine and rectum, pancreas and biliary tract, liver, breast, etc., reaching an average of 1,400 cases a year.

Operation room exclusively for robotic surgeries, safe and comfortable environment for patients
The 190-pyeong Robotic Operating Center, area of 630m2, located at B1 of the main building has 3 operation rooms, facilities and equipment exclusively for robotic surgeries such as anesthesia recovery room, patient waiting room, etc. The waiting time of patients for surgeries is reduced, and they can receive distinguished medical services in more comfortable and safe environments.
