의료진 소개 내용

안영환 교수는 1986년 중앙대학교 의과대학 졸업 후 신경외과 전문의(1991년)와 의학박사학위(2000년)를 취득하고, 스웨덴 룬드대학에 국비 유학(박사후 과정)을 하였다. 아주대병원이 개원한 1994년에 임상강사로 부임하였으며, 1996년부터 현재까지 아주대학교 의과대학 신경외과 전임 교원으로 재직하고 있다.

전문 진료 분야는 뇌정위기능 신경외과학 분야로서, 이상운동질환(파킨슨씨병, 근긴장이상 등)에 대한 뇌심부자극수술, 통증 외과(척추 수술 후 통증 및 불인성 통증), 안면경련증, 삼차신경통을 포함한 안면 통증, 설인신경통, 뇌질환의 감마나이프수술, 뇌출혈, 성인 수두증, 치매 분야 등이다.

한국 정부의 국비 지원을 받아 스웨덴 룬드대학 뇌신경센터에서 파킨슨병에 대한 줄기세포 뇌이식 분야의 연수를 마치고, 보건복지부 대형 차세대 성장동력 국책과제(줄기세포를 이용한 뇌질환 치료제 개발)의 과제 책임자로서 퇴행성 뇌질환 및 뇌출혈을 비롯한 뇌졸중에 대한 줄기세포 뇌이식 치료제 개발 연구를 수행하였다. 국내에서는 처음으로 식약청으로부터 승인을 받아 뇌출혈 환자를 대상으로 성체 줄기세포를 이용한 세포치료제 임상 1, 2상 연구를 수행하였으며, 관련 치료제 국제 특허 등을 확보하고 있다. 지금은 한국 전자파학회, 한국 전자통신연구원과 공동으로 전자파 및 뇌과학 분야 연구를 수행 중이다.

대외적으로 대한감마나이프방사선수술학회 회장, 대한정위기능신경외과학회 회장을 지냈고, 미국 뇌이식학회 정회원, 미국 신경과학회 정회원, 세계정위기능신경외과학회 정회원, 대한신경외과학회 정회원 및 학회지 편집위원, 대한뇌종양학회 정회원, 대한뇌혈관학회 정회원, 대한방사선수술학회 상임이사, 대한뇌신경기능장애연구회 상임이사, 대한감마나이프방사선수술학회 정회원 및 상임이사, 대한통증연구학회 상임위원 및 간행위원, 대한전자파학회 정회원 및 생체영향연구회 학술위원장 등으로 활동하고 있다.
